Contact Lens Care tips

Contact lenses are very effective in changing the way you look and even your view but for the concern of health it’s very essential that you take proper contact lenses.
You will need to consult your practitioner for your prescription. He can guide you through the complete process of how to wear and handle it. One can even visit various website to educate himself/herself for additional information and contact lens care tips.

 Some tips for handling contact lens:

1. Wash your hands properly and make sure that it’s completely free from bacteria and contaminants before using and handling contact lens. Never use any cosmetic products before using contact lens. Any kind of dust particles that enter the solution or the lens may cause infection or irritation later on.

2. Use finger tips for handling contact lens. Never use nails as it might impart contaminants.

3. Lens should be thoroughly cleaned, rinsed and disinfected after removal. The solutions which are used for disinfecting should be an approved one. Lens should be immediately cleaned and disinfected after use and never compromise with the kind of solution you use.

4. The disinfecting solution must be within the date of expiry and must be fresh. Never use any solution beyond the date of expiry.

5. Never use tap water or saliva as they might cause harm to your eyes by infecting as saliva can cause infection and tap water contains chlorine.

6. Never re use any solution already used for cleaning once and make sure you clean your case as well according to the guidelines of the manufacturer regularly.

7.  Use fresh solution always and never re use or top off the solution, that is, do not add more solution to the one already used before.

8. Always close the case after putting in the lens immersed in disinfecting solution. Do not let it be open as air can contaminate the solution as well as lens. Any dust particle which might enter can cause irritation later on.

9. Lens case should be changed every time a new pack of solution is bought as it helps regulating the cleaning process. Keeping the case is as important as keeping the lens clean because it stays in there overnight and if any intrusion happens there will cause problem to your eye as well.

10. Keep changing contact lens once in while as said by the manufacturer and do take help of professional eye care specialist if the need be.

Take help and consult eye care specialist regularly and do let him know if you feel uncomfortable due to just any reasons. Any early treatment to early problem can help in stopping the problem to get really serious.

Keep you contact lens clean and make sure you keep going for regular check ups and always follow the guidelines set by the specialist.
