It’s very important that you have proper knowledge of how to take care of your eyes and vision when it comes to protecting your eye sight and improving it as well.

Here are ten tips that can be beneficial for you:


1. Have your eyes examined regularly by an eye-care professional, and don't ignore changes in your vision.
o There are many diseases such as AMD and diabetic retinopathy can be prevalent in eyes even if you are living a normal life. Checking your eyes regularly and getting in examined can help you catch the symptoms and treatment done in early stages.
o It’s very much possible that you face vision loss of eye problems if you have a family history of it or if you are diabetic, smoker, over weight or family has history of light coloured eyes or skin.
o Depending on various parameters and factors like food intake, diseases already have, family history ask your doctor to do proper check up and diagnose for prevention.
2. Quit for your eyes.
Quit smoking as it is one of the major reason of vision loss. There are many eye problems which can generate from this habit which can be harmful on long run so protect your eyes and quit smoking now.
3. Get healthy.
o Have food high on nutrients and anti-oxidants and not which are high on fat and do not provide with much nutrients.
o Exercise regularly, know exercise for eyes as well, keep fit and save yourself from getting over weight else you might fall in to big trouble in terms of eyes for sure.
4. Protect your eyes from sunlight.
o Do not expose yourself too much to sunlight and use sunglasses and hat for protecting against UV radiation. It can cause AMD and Cataracts. Try to have less exposure to direct sun rays and protect your eyes from it as long duration of exposure can in long run prove to be very harmful due to UV ray.
5. Wear eye protection.
o Do wear sunglasses when playing sports in open or working on power tools. This sunglasses and eye gear should be approved by the Canadian standard association so that you are rest assured of safety.
6. Consider vitamin supplements.
o If you are treating yourself with dry AMD, do consult doctor and have high dosage vitamin supplements so that you can save yourself from higher risk and irreversible situations.
7. Prevent diabetes
o Save yourself from diabetic retinopathy and other vision problems and this can be done if you take preventative measure and save yourself from having diabetes.
8. Managing diabetes (if you already have it)
o Control your diabetes level and levels of blood pressure, lipid, sugar and fat levels as well. Increase in these may cause diabetic retinopathy.
9. Keeping drinking moderate
o Quit alcohol or lower the consumption as it might cause cataract.
