One of the growing problem facing many persons the world over is eye care and eye problems. Many people of the world are having vision problems which are ultimately resulting in loss of vision.

The number of cases of vision loss and eye problems should actually decrease and the number of cases of eye problems should also go down only because there are a number of advancements has been made in the field of medical science. The researchers believe that this will also require proper eye care and at the right time.

The major causes of vision loss are

  1. Cataract
  2. Glaucoma
  3. Age related muscular degeneration and dystrophy
  4. Retinopathy due to diabetes

These problems are getting new victims day by day and the problems related to eye disorders are fast increasing.

For any disease we can say that prevention is better than cure because once the disease affects you than it is very difficult for you to cope with it. Therefore we must take proper care of our eyes and prevent infections. Eye care also includes personal hygiene and that means keeping your eyes clean and free of germs all the times. Vitamin intake is absolutely necessary and the Vitamin A is particularly important for your eyes.

Minerals should also be consumed in moderate proportion so that there is no mineral deficiency which the body faces. Proper eye care will prevent degenerative diseases and these diseases actually can result in loss of vision. Muscular degeneration can be prevented by various preventive methods like proper exercise and prevention of injury to the eyes. The age old diseases of the eye are best prevented by proper care and hygiene. Food and nutrition is also important because the lack of proper nutrition will give rise to problems inside the body and in particular problems of the eye. Vitamin deficiency will result in a host of eye problems like Glaucoma and cataract which is generally caused during the old age. 

Vitamins are the most essential components which is needed by our body because Vitamins provide the necessary nutrition to our body and is very important or the eyes in particular.

Vitamin A is very important for the eye because it reduces night blindness and cataracts too. Deficiency of this vitamin will result in night blindness. Various corneal ulcers have been linked to lack of Vitamin A.

Vitamin C is very good at slowing down the degeneration process of the eye and also can result in Glaucoma prevention.

It is important that you see your doctors at least twice a year to have your eyes tested and to see if there are any unknown infections there. You should also follow your doctor’s advice and not rely on your own remedies.
